Re-reading this, so many years after, being a Chemistry post-graduate and on the verge of starting a PhD was really wonderful. I still find Marie's life truly inspiring. I mean, she was born in a time and place where women were not allowed to pursue University education. She worked, she helped her sister Brona going to Paris to study medicine and only after she followed.
Education doesn't have a validity - we are always in time of following our dreams. Marie went to college at 24 and achieve so much. Age is truly only a number. On July 4, , at 66 years old, she died in a Sanitorium at the French Alps. She was then buried next to her husband in Sceaux, France. She was awarded two Nobel Prizes — one in physics which she won jointly with her husband and Henri Becquerel, and another in chemistry — and was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes.
